INDIVIDUALS
I work one-on-one with artists [any art form], creators of original content or products, inventors – people who have an idea and then go about manifesting it into the world. Individual work can take many forms – regularly scheduled 45-90 minute one-on-one sessions, project consulting, business or marketing planning, training in areas of my expertise, or a variety of services offered on retainer.
My rate for working with individuals is $125/hour. Clients who go on retainer receive a discount ranging from 5% to 30%.

Project Types I Love:
Support in designing and implementing a marketing strategy and plan for the artistic growth and sustainable business development of an individual Artist’s career. I also love doing this for artists groups – troupes, collectives, co-ops and the like.
Developing a solid marketing strategy and plan for useful inventions that add value to our lives, and then overseeing the plan’s implementation while training the Client to take the marketing reigns (I prefer empowering my Clients rather than having them become overly dependent on me and my services. Training is built into most Client projects, and can be applied to the owners of the company, an employee or another independent contractor they designate.)
Designing and conducting market research. Again, the project may be in any of the business categories within which I have experience, and the main criteria for choosing a project is its value add to individuals, community, our world.
Any publishing project. This could be a niche zine publisher; specialized indie book publisher; self-published author; entertainment products [CDs, DVDs, downloadable electronic media, etc.]; merchandising serial products; and the like – in most genres where there is an identifiable market for the product.
Projects that defy categorization. These represent some of my most favorite projects. Ever. (My first foray into this realm was with my own interactive, role-playing murder mysteries – Black Ink Mysteries™.)
GROUPS
If you are interested in booking my workshops and/or in having me create a curriculum for your specific group, I am thrilled to do so.
A full day of course work based on already existing classes is $2,250 plus materials and other expenses (travel, room & board) for groups of 8 to 25. Add $125/person/day after that. WHO THIS IS FOR: arts groups and organizations who do not have their own arts-business curriculum and trained facilitators, and know they want to have workshops for their members or client-base.
Original curricula are project-priced, and are on a case-by-case basis. You can expect to invest $50,000 and up to have a curriculum developed specifically for your organization. WHO THIS IS FOR: arts groups and organizations who want their own arts-business curriculum. The fee includes training for a master facilitator and the development of all the course materials.
Rights to the course materials are negotiable – if the copyright is shared, your project fee is lower and we share the rights to the material. If your organization wants to retain all rights to the material, the project fee reflects that, and you will own exclusive rights to the resultant curriculum.
MUNICIPALITIES / UNIVERSITIES / GOV’T & PUBLIC AGENCIES
I consult with governments (city, county, state, federal), government or public agencies, large arts organizations, universities and colleges on the following topics:
- Business incubator/accelerator for arts and creativity-based industries
- Live-work projects that incorporate business incubator aspects
- Developing curriculum and support programs for people in the arts and creative industries
- Membership programs offering safety net and business acceleration services
I charge a project or retainer (unique to each project) fee plus expenses.
