I’m Presenting at Ignite Portland 2!…

…and Exhibiting in 3 art exhibits - all within the first 7 days of February!!! What was I THINKING?!? Ack! LOL. Woohoo!

The front page of today’s Living Section in the “O” is all about Ignite Portland 2 (IP2), and there’s a quote from one of the organizers about the presenters needing to be a cross between the Cirque du Soleil folks and Toastmasters! YIKES!

Truthfully, though, I’m very excited about this opportunity - although I’m still working through how I want my 20 slides and 5 minutes to roll…too many ways I could go with this topic…and at least I’m clear on one thing - I want to leave people feeling energized and empowered, not depressed and suicidal. Ha!

Here’s the lowdown:

Where: Bagdad Theater, 3702 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd.
When: 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5 (doors open at 5:15 p.m.)
Admission: Free; first-come, first-served if theater fills (it holds approximately 600)

LIVING A MADE UP LIFE - AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT!

One day I woke up and realized I was living someone else’s script for my life. It felt icky, like a shirt that’s too small and puckering at the buttons. Looked great on the hanger, but…turns out I’m not a hanger.

So on another day I woke up and quit. Now I write and produce my own life 24/7.

I’ll tell you what I did, and what it’s like to live a made up life - and maybe you’ll see a way for you to have the same.

Or not.

It’s all made up anyway - so, you choose. Your script, or theirs.

So, I hope to see you there.

FIRST FRIDAY OPENINGS

The Love Show @ LaunchPad Gallery

When: Friday, Feb. 1st - 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

What to expect: Works by over 100 artists, music, eats, cash bar
What I’m exhibiting: Either a steel and glass sculpture -or- a small wall assemblage made from crafty stuff I did 30 years ago (both pieces are reused/recycled art from my past)
